Hokkaido, Japan

Hokkaido (北海道, Hokkaidō) is the second largest, northern most and least developed of Japan's four main islands. Its weather is harsh in winter with lots of snowfall, below zero temperatures and frozen seas, while in summer it does not get as hot and humid as in the other parts of the country.

With its unspoiled nature, Hokkaido attracts many outdoor lovers, including skiers and snowboarders in the colder seasons and hikers, cyclists and campers from June to September.

Hokkaido is big, charming, and has lots of lovely places. It is quite difficult to come up with just a few must-visit places there.
Niseko

For those skiing lovers, Niseko is the most famous ski resort in Japan, known for having tons of light powder snow, which has vast areas for backcountry skiing and long, wide runs. The ski areas in Niseko that have become popular among Japanese and foreigners include Hirafu, Higashiyama, Annupuri, Hanazono, Moiwa, and Weiss.

Furano & Biei

Furano is a town where rolling fields bloom with lovely lavenders in the month of July. It has rural landscapes that become spots for world-class skiing in the winter season. Furano (富良野) and Biei (美瑛) are towns in the center of Hokkaido, known for their pleasant and picturesque rural landscapes. The best time to visit is July, when the lavender fields are in bloom. During winter, Furano turns into a popular downhill and cross country skiing resort.

Daisetsuzan National Park

Daisetsuzan is Hokkaido's largest national park. It preserves a densely forested, mountainous area of virtually unspoiled wilderness, which is larger than some of Japan's smaller prefectures. It is a paradise for hikers, outdoor lovers, deer and brown bears.

Food are great in Hokkaido
No trip to Hokkaido would be complete without tasting the delicious culinary treats that it offers. Being at the northernmost tip of Japan, Hokkaido is blessed with a rich feast of delicacies from both the fertile land and abundant sea.

  • Fresh seafood is found all over it. The island’s cold waters support large populations of uni or sea urchin, ikura or salmon roe, ika or squid, and many more.
  • Garden-fresh fruits and vegetables are commonly found in the island, which spans a large area that can aid extensive farming. Melons, potatoes, and corns are some of Hokkaido’s popular produce.
  • Milk and milk products that are from Hokkaido are priced relatively higher than those from other prefectures in Japan for a good reason. In Japan, milk is freshest in Hokkaido, which has a vast countryside that can support a large-scale dairy industry.
  • Hokkaido’s ramen and beer are also very popular among locals and visitors to the island.

Nature in its many wonderful forms, however, is the biggest draw of the island.
  • Mountains in Hokkaido have striking shapes and are often capped with snow. Their slopes are homes to rare plants and animals.
  • Bodies of water in the island are transparent, letting one somehow see through the bottom and the animals swimming below the surface. Ice usually forms and floats in lakes, marshes, and rivers.
  • Hokkaido has many waterfalls hidden in forests and flowing down from rocks. As waterfalls cascade, they form interesting shapes like that of a staircase.
  • Foxes, bears, seals, deer, and so many other kinds of animals have Hokkaido as their homeland. They are not usually found in zoos but rather in their natural surroundings in the mountains and protected national parks.

This is the wonderful and the most natural color of Hokkaido.

Iceland

Iceland another stunning destination that I dream to visit to. This is a place that is so amazing with the incredible amount & diversity of attractions, with jaw- dropping natural phenomena.  Iceland is the least densely populated country in Europe, with a pure, unpolluted and truly magical landscape where nature reigns supreme.

Gullfoss

The powerful, two-tier waterfalls at Gullfoss on the Hvita present a stunning sight, whether part-frozen in winter, in full flood during the spring melt, or roaring away during the long summer twilight. Gullfoss looks almost too perfectly landscaped to be real: The Hvita river hurtles over a low tier, turns 90 degrees, plunges into a cloud of spray, and shimmies offstage through a picturesque gorge. Clear skies guarantee a rainbow.

The Blue Lagoon
The Blue Lagoon is Iceland’s premier geothermal spa and one of the country’s most beautiful. Set in a desolate lava wilderness, the lagoon’s bright blue waters add a surreal splash of color. The lagoon was artificially created from pumped-in seawater and runoff from a geothermal power plant -- not exactly a natural wonder, but it could make you feel like one.

A dip in the sublime waters of the Blue Lagoon is a quintessentially Icelandic experience.

Landmannalaugar
There is a naturally heated bathing area in the middle of the campsite. This is totally natural & it can be strange to be swimming with the wildfowl. Most suitable destination for campers, photographers and hikers who frequent the hills. This is a hiking area, so be prepared with good walking boots and suitable backpack. A lightweight tripod or mono-pod is convenient.

Other than that, Iceland also a destination that available to see the incredible Northern Light or Aurora Borealis. The Northern Lights or Aurora Borealis is a natural phenomenon that can paint the night sky with unearthly, surreal color.

The Northern Lights (or Aurora Borealis) are among the most spectacular phenomena on earth – and Iceland is the perfect place to see them.

Optimal conditions to see the northern lights in Iceland:

  • clear dark sky (away from the city lights)
  • the colder the temperature, the brighter the show
  • When? From middle September to middle April

End with the tourism video of Iceland.

Taipei, Taiwan

I asked a lot of friends, ''Buddy, which place that you want to travel the most, outside of Malaysia?'' Mostly, they're answered me, ''Taiwan''. Same like my friends, I wish travel to Taiwan too. Don't you think Taiwan was suitable for young traveller like us? Young traveller desire of adventurous, challenges and budget tour. And all these can be found in Taiwan.

But today, I will just talk about Taipei, the capital of Taiwan. The city which combined different types of tourist attractions and tourism products, from world tallest tower in the world to roadside food stall. Everything in Taipei could easily be a popular attraction. For your information, Taipei is one of the world's greatest showcases for Chinese cuisine. That's not strange tourist travel to Taipei just for the food.

Assume that after all long way from Malaysia to Taiwan, the first place I will go is...

Beitou, famous with it world-class geothermal hot springs that have been shaped into spa . After few hours of flight, I will choose to comfort my tired body and soul in the hot spring bath. With my eye close and soaking my whole body in the hot water... It's heaven !!

I like night views, so how can I miss it when in Taipei?! Look at the landmark of Taiwan, Taipei 101, the 2nd tallest skyscraper in the world, it is so awe-inspiring and impressive. Other than that, I will also have dine in one of the popular themed restaurant in Taipei, Déjà vu Restaurant. It was a joint venture by 2 well-known Taiwan celebrities, Jay Chou & Liu Qian.

Honestly, I might go this restaurant because it opened by my favorite singer and it features some of the personal collections of them like batman car, batman mobile and century-old antique (Jay is a fan of Batman and so am I)...

''What night activity can do in Taipei?''
''Clubbing?''    NO !!!
''Sleep in hotel?''     Of course NOT !!!
''How about Night Market?''

Yes, Night Market !!!
There's few popular night market in Taipei, one of it Shilin Night Market

Shilin Night Market is one of the largest night markets in Taipei. The night market formed by many prosperous shops and famous for various snacks and eatery. I am a person who like to eat, so I must go night market to grab and enjoy the delicious foods, such as large pancake enfolding small pancake, hot pot on stone or Shilin sausage.... Yummy~~~

That's not only foods is the main attraction of Shilin Night Market, but also shopping heaven..
Goods are sold at less expensive price compared to regular store. Furniture, clothing, photo shops or pet shop...Just prepare enough money and ready for SHOPPING or maybe with a cup of Bubble Milk Tea !!!!

One of my interest is to walk around convenience shops... Coz I watched too much Korean and Taiwanese dramas, and their convenience shops are so different compare to Malaysia's convenience shop. There have plenty of products can be found in one convenience shop.

So this is just a part of beverage sold in convenience shop..

I think I can start saving money now & prepare for Taiwan trip once I graduate from study... I can say that Taiwan could be an ideal destination for graduation trip.

Maldives

This time I going to share is one of the most popular holiday destinations in the whole world, Maldives

Why Maldives? Come on, I think most of the girls like this place. Right ?!

Right now, I going to brief a little about Maldives

Maldives was located in the Indian Ocean, with beaches, striking lagoons, breathtaking sunrises and sunsets, which make your holiday unforgettable and complete. There are large number of islands making up Maldives, of these, most islands have been set up for the purpose of tourism and serve as sea resort islands.

For my first impression of Maldives, the first picture come to my mind is the serene and white sandy beaches are lapping by the sea waves. I love the rhythm of waves, unlike music, listening to the sound of waves always is best way to calm my mind and peaceful. It'll never bored for keep looking at the bluest water and listening the sound of waves, life is so wonderful...

Pictures always can express better than any words. The beauty of the overwater and underwater worlds.

The sea of Maldives have high visibility throughout the year, with water clear enough to see the passing fish.

Just lying on a deserted beach of a Maldivian island, taking in nothing but the continuous rhythm of the waves, the sea salt in the air and feeling the soft white sand on your bare feet is enough to sooth your senses. Each island with its green vegetation and secluded setting is a natural spa in its own right, designed to soothe, caress, and heal.

Never the less, Maldives is perfect place for honeymoon and couples looking for a luxury island vacation. Share their sweet moment in a tropical island with clear water water, white sand beaches, palm trees, warm sunny days, and great diving. A dinner under the stars with the occasional flicker of candle, or dive among the beautiful reefs will just let you to remember this moment and this love to the rest of your life. It's as close to heaven as you can get.

Travel Tips:
The culture of the Maldives is an amalgamation of South Indian, Arab and Sinhalese influences. Since almost all Maldivians are Sunni Muslims, day to day life in the islands follow Islamic precepts; therefore pork, alcohol, dogs and the public display of other religions are prohibited on the inhabited islands. When visiting mosques appropriate modest clothing should be worn. However these restrictions do not apply to the resort islands, allowing tourists to act as they would like.
Weekends in the Maldives falls on Friday and Saturday, which means that government offices, banks and many stores are closed on these days. Again there is little effect on the operation of the resorts except that the lunchtimes on Fridays may be adjusted to allow for prayers.

If I have an opportunity to go Maldives, I will choose to go alone. Carry my little luggage and take flight fly all the way to Maldives and enjoy my own most precious moment. Taste the real taste of local cuisine, enjoy the sunrises and sunsets with the rhythm of waves, or maybe a chance to know some new friend, perhap a Boyfriend (just kidding)..^^

Let start planning your holiday.. Bye~
