Let me ask you a question, do you know this cartoon character?


I bet you guys know him, he was Popeye the Sailor Man. Popeye, my childhood favorite cartoon character, he had brought me lot of fun and memory. But do you know, the scene of Popeye village was actually exist in the real world? 

Let me give you a tour on Popeye's Village in reality.

Popeye Village, also known as Sweethaven Village, is a group of rustic and ramshackle wooden buildings located at Anchor Bay in the north-west corner of the Mediterranean island of Malta. It was built as a film set for the production of the 1980 live-action musical feature film Popeye. 

And today, it is open to the public as an open-air museum and family entertainment complex. 



 In Popeye Village, you probably think you are in a cartoon world and so unreal. The fun park is modeled on the theme of the children' favorite cartoon character, Popeye the Sailor Man

The film version of Popeye was made by Robert Altman starring Robin William, and was shot at Sweethaven in 1980, the year that I not in the world yet..Although Popeye was created in 1929, but popularity of this character has remained intact through the decades.
